Welcome from the Chairs

Dear friends and colleagues!

It is our great pleasure to welcome you all to the 13^th I-BFM Biennial Childhood Leukemia and Lymphoma Symposium (CLLS). We are very glad to have our traditional and unique meeting hosted for the first time in Valencia, Spain.

Since its beginning, we thought to have the CLLS as an important opportunity for fellows, researchers and junior faculty to report and highlight novel basic and clinical information on malignant hematological malignancies. The keynote topics of this conference are acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), translational research in ALL and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL), cellular therapies in leukemia and NHL, myeloid disorders, therapy and outcome of leukemia and lymphoma in low- and middle-income countries, the shape of our next-generation ALL trials, amongst others. Thus, we are looking forward to continue on our successful path towards cure for all children and adolescents with leukemia & lymphoma.

As always, we want to keep the  unique “I-BFM and CLLS atmosphere”, which has been developed in the last 40 years on the idea of building networks across borders by being inclusive and promote cooperative research projects or even establishing new personal friendships.

The CLLS will be followed by the 33^rd I-BFM annual meeting embedded in the SIOP Europe Annual Meeting to strength the voice and visibility of Pediatric Oncology in Europe.

We thank the I-BFM Committee Chairs for their support in making the CLLS possible,  all contributors for their scientific input and their willingness to share novel ideas and concepts and unpublished data. In addition, we missed social gatherings and direct F2F discussions for quite some time. Thus, plenty of reasons to meet you all in Valencia, Spain!
